Home Assistant
Set your MQTT broker in the box and Home Assistant discovers TAICO Monitor: sensor.taico_monitor_soc, sensor.taico_monitor_power, voltage and current, sensor.taico_monitor_cell_delta with one sensor per cell, sensor.taico_monitor_temperature, sensor.taico_monitor_cycles and binary_sensor.taico_monitor_alarm. No YAML.
No MQTT broker? The REST integration of Home Assistant can read the local JSON API instead.
MQTT
Once on your broker, readings are open to any client: InfluxDB and Grafana, a wall tablet, or a small script that sends you a daily summary.
Local JSON API
GET http://moniwatt.local/api.json?key=YOUR_KEY
{ "soc": 68, "power": -820, "voltage": 51.9,
"cell_min": 3.244, "cell_max": 3.257, "temp": 31.0, "alarms": [] }Copy the key from Settings > Access key & Cloud.
Jeedom
A JSON plugin from the Market reads api.json; create info commands for soc, power and temp and use them in scenarios, such as cutting the air conditioning when the battery gets low.
Node-RED
An http request node on api.json with parsed JSON, then a switch node on msg.payload.soc to drive relays by threshold. An mqtt in node works as well.
Domoticz
The MQTT Auto Discovery gateway of Domoticz creates the same devices; a dzVents script polling api.json is the option without a broker.
openHAB
HTTP binding with JSONPATH channels such as $.soc and $.temp, or the MQTT binding.
IFTTT, Make and Apilio
With the free Cloud on, IFTTT, Make.com or Apilio can read the private JSON link of your battery and bridge values into SmartLife or Tuya scenes. There is no native Tuya integration.
Ideas for TAICO owners
- Keep only the essentials running when the battery gets low during a cut.
- Cool the battery room when the temperature climbs.
- Log the hours of backup each day.
- Heat water with the surplus once the battery is full.
- Show the state of charge on a screen in the shop or the kitchen.
